Mashhoor Wins the Saudi National Day Cup as Taif Closes Its Racing Season

The 2026 Taif racing season concluded at King Khalid Racecourse on Saturday, 26 September, following two evenings with a combined SAR 6.2 million in prize money and victories in the season’s leading cups.

Mashhoor and Wootton Sun Take the Honours

Mashhoor, representing Saud Mohammed Saud Al Ali Stable, won the Saudi National Day Cup over 2,400 metres. The race carried a prize fund of SAR 450,000.

Wootton Sun, racing in the colours of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, won the Okaz Cup in two minutes and 16.93 seconds.

Sahab Alriyadh and Hanouf Athbah Win Major Cups

Sahab Alriyadh won the King Faisal Cup, while Hanouf Athbah claimed the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Cup.

Winners on the Final Evening

Saturday’s other cup winners included Jabkhan in the Jockey Club Challenge Cup, Bushra in the King Khalid Racecourse Arabian championship, and Double Talk in the fillies and mares championship. Power of Beauty won the open-class cup.
