The reserve provides habitats for resident and migratory birds.
The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has announced that 296 bird species have been recorded within the reserve.
Species mentioned in the announcement include the griffon vulture, lappet-faced vulture, sooty falcon and Egyptian vulture.
Located in northern and northwestern Saudi Arabia, the reserve provides habitats where migratory birds can rest and feed, alongside resident species.
The authority compared the total with an earlier record of 190 species. In October 2024, it had announced the documentation of more than 290 bird species in the reserve.
