The Australian filly reverses the 2025 result against Ka Ying Rising, with Flemington and Randwick among the options being considered.
Tempted gave Godolphin its first Everest victory when she won the 1,200-metre sprint at Australia’s Randwick racecourse on Saturday, 17 October 2026. The four-year-old filly beat Ka Ying Rising, reversing the result of their meeting in the 2025 edition.
Ridden by Chad Schofield and trained by Ciaron Maher, she defeated a rival who arrived with 21 consecutive victories. The result added one of Australia’s leading sprint titles to Godolphin’s record.
Six wins in 2026
Bred by Godolphin in Australia, Tempted now has ten wins from 15 starts. The daughter of Street Boss and Calliope has won all six of her starts in 2026, including the Group One Surround Stakes and Everest.
Two options for the next start
Her next race has not been decided. In an interview published by Racing.com on 18 October, Godolphin Australia Racing and Bloodstock Manager Jason Walsh said the team was considering the 1,200-metre Champions Sprint at Flemington on 7 November. The 1,300-metre Russell Balding Stakes at Randwick on 31 October remains another option.
The decision will depend on Tempted’s recovery and her trainer’s assessment. Experience on Flemington’s straight course could help inform plans for future campaigns, but any next destination remains a possibility until a decision is announced.
