Founded in Abu Dhabi in 2001, the center combines Saluki care and training with the preservation of native Arabian bloodlines.
Abu Dhabi’s Arabian Saluki Center is marking its 25th anniversary in 2026. Established in 2001 as a project of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, it has combined the preservation of hunting heritage with the development of care, training and native Arabian bloodline conservation.
Over a quarter of a century, its work has expanded from boarding and daily care to breeding programs, bloodline documentation and veterinary services, alongside guidance for breeders and owners on care and responsible ownership.
Training is a central part of this work. According to the club’s report, the center has running areas attached to its kennels and an outdoor training ground covering more than 1,000 square meters. Its programs include fitness, swimming, behavior, obedience and sprint racing, as well as preparation for shows and beauty competitions.
One milestone has been its organization of the Arabian Saluki Beauty Contest at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition since 2004. These activities continue with the 2026–2027 Arabian Saluki Championship in Al Ain and Al Dhafra, with competition expected to begin this November.
The center also provides veterinary examinations and consultations, vaccinations and microchipping, together with travel and transport guidance. These practical services connect the preservation of the falconer’s companion with the needs of breeders and dogs today.
