Dark Saffron prepares for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Keeneland on 31 October.
Trainer Ahmad bin Harmash is drawing inspiration from the success of Japanese horses in American racing as he prepares for a new challenge with Dark Saffron, a two-time Dubai Golden Shaheen winner.
Owned by Sultan Ali, the horse is preparing to contest the Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Keeneland on 31 October, an international Grade 1 dirt race over approximately 1,200 metres with a total purse of $2 million.
In comments reported by Sean Collins, Bin Harmash wondered whether a team from another country could repeat the Japanese success. He explained that preparations began in late May and that the horse had settled well at Keeneland.
