شاركت وحدة مكافحة الصيد الجائرAPU التابعة لجمعية حماية الطبيعة في لبنان SPNL ومركزالشرق الأوسط للصيد المستدام MESHC عبر رئيس المركز والمسؤول الميداني لملف الصيد المسؤول في الجمعية ورئيس تحرير مجلة صيد ادونيس الخطيب في ندوة تدريبية الاحد 2021/1/24 عبر تطبيق ZOOM حول واقع الصيد في لبنان وكيفية مكافحة الصيد الجائر لحماية الطبيعة والهواية، وذلك من ضمن سلسلة برامج “مبتكروا المتوسط من أجل التضامن” الممول من الاتحاد الاوروبي، وتنظيم “Walk for Unity” الممثلة بالسيدة ندى حلاوة .
وقد شارك اكثر من اربعين شخص من رؤساء جمعيات وصيادين وناشطين بيئيين ومراقبي طيور وكشافة ومع القطاع التعليمي وقطاع سياحة الصيد.
تميزت الجلسة التي دامت حوالي 3 ساعات بالتفاعل الكبير والصراحة والوضوح والواقعية،وتم عرض فيدوهات عن عمل الوحدة المشترك مع منظمة CABS الدولية لمكافحة ذبح الطيور على مدى اربع سنوات وما حققته من انجازات على صعيد التوعية وتطبيق القانون بالتعاون مع شعبة العلاقات العامة في المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي.
ومن الجدير بالذكر ان مشروع مكافحة الصيد الجائر في لبنان يقوم بالشراكة والتعاون بين MESHC و SPNL من جهة، وبين SPNL ومشروع الطيور المحلقة MSB الممول من صندوق البيئة العالميGEF ومشروع مكافحة الصيد الغير قانوني الممول من MAVA من جهة أخرى.
The Anti-Poaching Unit (APU) of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) and the Middle East Center for Sustainable Hunting (MESHC), represented by Adonis Khatib who is the center’s head and field officer for the responsible hunting issue in the Society, participated in a training seminar on Sunday, January 24th, 2021, on Zoom. The subject of the seminar was the reality of hunting in Lebanon and how to combat illegal hunting and poaching in order to protect nature and the pastime of hunting. The seminar was part of a series of “Mediterranean innovators for solidarity” funded by the European Union and the organization “Walk for Unity” represented by Mrs. Nada Halawe.
More than forty people participated in the zoom meeting, including heads of NGOs, hunters, environmental activists, bird watchers, scouts, members of the educational sector and the hunting tourism sector.
The session, which lasted about 3 hours, was characterized by a great deal of interaction, frankness, clarity and realism. Videos were presented about the joint work of the unit with the Committee Against Bird Slaughter – CABS – to combat the slaughter of birds over the last four years and the things it has achieved in terms of awareness building and law enforcement in cooperation with the Public Relations Division of the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces (ISF).
It is worth noting that the anti-poaching project in Lebanon is based on partnership and cooperation between MESHC and SPNL on the one hand, and between SPNL and the MSB – Migratory Soaring Birds Project funded by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and the project to fight illegal hunting funded by MAVA on the other hand.
